Memory care
Memory care in Le Sueur, MN
Care for people living with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia, in the same building as our assisted living. Monitored access, protected outdoor space, and staff who give every medication and check in at least four times a shift. Apartments start at $3,500 a month.

How memory care is different from assisted living
The starting point is higher. In assisted living, the first care level is one safety check a shift. In memory care, the first level is four checks a shift, and staff give all medications. Nobody is left to manage their own pills.
The building helps too. Access is monitored, and outdoor space is protected, so there is room to walk and get fresh air.
At the most involved level, care includes continuous supervision and two-person help with movement, including support for someone who is in bed most of the day.
Memory care levels and what each one costs

A day in memory care
Need from Julia: what a typical day looks like in memory care (meals, activities, outdoor time, how staff handle sundowning), any dementia-specific training staff complete, and the staffing pattern by shift. The old site claimed Music and Memory certification on every community. We dropped it. Confirm certification with proof, or leave it out.
Memory care questions
Is memory care licensed at French Meadow Place?
In Minnesota, a community needs an Assisted Living Facility with Dementia Care license to operate a secured memory care unit. You can look up our license and inspection results at the Minnesota Department of Health.
When is it time to move from assisted living to memory care?
Usually when safety becomes the daily worry: leaving the building without telling anyone, missing medications even with reminders, or growing distress in the evening. Because both are under one roof here, the move does not mean leaving the building.
Who gives medications in memory care?
Staff do. Staff-administered medication is part of the first memory care level, not an add-on.
Do you offer short stays in memory care?
Yes. Memory care respite is $250 a day, for up to 30 days.
How much does memory care cost in total?
Add the apartment rate, the care level and a meal plan. The pricing page shows a worked example.

Visit memory care before you decide
See the space, ask how a day runs, and tell us about the person you are caring for. Care type is all we need to know to start. We never ask for a diagnosis on a web form.
